Midden Site – Saving 4,000 years of First Nations artifacts.
4,000 year old midden site in Sechelt BC. When the property owner started to build an ancient long house site was revealed which halted excavating. Quoted in the Coast News Shilshalh Nation Chief Calvin Craigar said “This discovery is so important because it is so very close to the municipality of Sechelt. It tells you the story that our people were here for more than 4000 years and this is such a magnificent discovery.” Installation of Postech Screw Piles for a concrete grade beam helped preserve the sites archeological importance and saved the home owner significant cost. We were very fortunate to have the opportunity to help preserve such an important piece of First Nations History.
